Default Can an obd-1 motor be converted to obd2 (motor wise not ecu!!!!)

from OBD1's to OBD2's on H22a's from what i think may have changed is (coil) from external to internal, the distributor plugs and the distributor itself, possibly the alternator plugs, and also the crank angle sensor on the crankshaft.. but other than that what else does their exist,

can i convert my JDM obd-1 motor into an obd-2 motor, but changing the oilpump assembly that has the crank shaft fluctuation sensor or does it also have a keyway for the crank aswell ????

i know a bit of those b series but this is my first h22a so i'm questioning what sensore would be added or different and their own locations and if parts can be swapped out to accomodate this...

anybody...

i'm not worried about electronics or wiring mostly just block related.. thanx !!!

I have a 96 EK, I had to build a obd-1 jumper, then now i'm about to order an AEM EMS for my setup, and well i'm debating... buying an obd-1 AEM and tuning it, or putting my motor obd-2, toss out the connector, and simply disable the sensors from the obd-2 motor as needed....

I still don't get it.

If you're getting an AEM, OBD doesn't exist anymore. The different versions of the AEM merely refer to the plug and play setups...so you don't have to do the wiring...

get the OBDI AEM prelude one and use your harness, or use your stock EK one and an AEM obd2 prelude one with it. Makes no difference....

I believe you have to change the distributor too. OBDI distributor and OBDII Distributor arent the same.

For the B motor...To get from OBDI to OBDII or OBDII to OBDI is to change the injectors and the distributor and a little mod on the injector clips.

what about the crankshaft fluctuation sensor that B series has.. on the timing belt side...

Does H series have th8is sensor in obd-2 setups .. because it would lack that even though you install an obd2 sensor... for the injectors yeah simply remove the resistor pack will cure that...
