OT: Who thinks the R is just a car now???
I was just thinking......
I remember when I first bought the R I babied it like crazy. A lil under 2.5 yrs later, the R isnt important to me anymore. Im thinking of selling it now because I'll be buying a house soon. To me now the R is just a car.
I cant remember the last time I driven the R hard to really enjoy it. Anyone else feel this way?

it is just a car. however you need to have priorities in your life so other things come first sometimes. I havnt had my R long enough to be able to enjoy it, its been off the road since May, so to me its still an infamous R and will only be more infamous when I get her back on the road
After I drive her for awhile, Im sure she will lose some of the nostalgia of being the all mighty R. Even if you dont love it like you once did, its still an R, and still one of the best all around cars ever produced. And If I was in your shoes, Im sure I would feel the same way.

i don't think it is just the fact that it is JUST a car... it is a matter of priorities.. a couple of years ago all i could think about is what the next part i could get for my car would be, now it is what piece of furniture will i be able to afford for my townhouse next....
also, i think no matter what, if you own a car for a certain period of time you kinda get tired of it anyway, no matter how nice it is... goes along the lines of the fact that you could probably point out EVERY single dent and ding and things wrong with your car, but i bet you none of us would notice them if we saw your car, know what i mean??

it is just a car, because i dont' want to let myself get attached to it. i know.. I KNOW.. somewhere down the road, it will be stolen.. unfortunately.
however, driving the car never ceases to bring me joy. it's quite exhilerating.

before i owned an itr, i used to see one or two of them about once a month and gawk and gawk at them, and now that i own one and my brother owns one, im just like "wow, another type-r, woo-hoo" sarcastically, cause i see multiple itr's every single day
Well, being a pretty new owner of an R I can say I treasure every minute driving it. I've put some crazy miles on the car because I just LOVE driving it. Before I bought the R I'd be lazy and lump all my errands in to one day to minimize driving, with the R, I'll drive across town for a couple cans of Redbull
But, in the end, it's just a depreciating piece of metal, so you can't get too attached to it
Edit: Even though I love the R... I'll always be a CRX man at heart. (I'd trade in my R tomorrow if Honda released a new CRX!!!)

Anyway, this era came to an end and the street punks ruined it.
Now having deep thoughts on something more grownup in future.

it is just a car, but a special car, even if that feeling wears off, you will miss it badly when/if you have to sell
trust me, i know

my R is about 1.5 years with me and I remember how I wanted this car since it first came out in 1997.
Though I think of it as 'just a car', I am hanging on to it because I never wanted something so bad before.. and all I have to do is have some cash.
(I wanted one girl to be my GF when I was 15 and it was harder)..
LOL
