steps to dynamating...
ive got a 4th gen prelude and my trunk, driverside door, seatbelt things, and ashray rattle like hell... what are the steps i need to take to dynamat my car myself?
doubt you can stop the ash tray to stop.. make sure and get extreme dynamat. that is the best **** ever. id clean surfaces first. then aply to big areas that rattle, or to **** that rattles (under int pieces). turn up the bass and diagnoss the proble areas ... then apply where needed. i dont know bout circut city but best buy sells a dynamat roller, works great.
How many subs do you have ? and what kind of amp is running them ?
I have tried many times to stop rattles with dynamat, and it is impossible if you have a lot of bass. It works well with one sub and not much power. But if you have 2 twelves and decent amp - forget it.
The subs move to much air. Take a look at the side panels and trunk when your beatin'. A piece of dynamat won't stop them from moving.
Instead you should put dynamat or something similar on the inner door where the plastic meets the door, Or buy new plastic clips, because after you remove the door panel a couple of times they begin to wear out and they won't grab very well.

I could give you a long description of how to tear apart your interior... but just screw with it and there's not really anything that will stop you. I do have some advice though: don't get Dynamat. Get this stuff:
www.b-quiet.com Don't get ripped off, man.
The Extreme can go on vertical surfaces, and the Brown Bread can go on any angled surface. I got some of it and though I don't have a sub, it made my stereo sound a lot cleaner.
