Default ITR tranny

I've already posted this in the classified forum, but I figure not many of you tend to go there.

If anybody is looking for one brand new at a fair price ($1900):

Thats cheaper than buying it through Acura, and with them being on national backorder, 1900 is a fair price.

Again, its brand new, NOT used. I bet you won't find this at YOUR local dealership at this price.

Question about the Y80 tranny vs the S80 tranny. Is the ITR tranny any stronger than a GSR tranny? Aside from the LSD, which I already have a better one anyways, are the gears or synchros stronger?

As of Outer casing and about 75% are the same. Minus some gears and diff. Synchros, I believe, are the same if not, no differ than any of the B-series tranny.

I know for a fact, theres' a Honda's bulliten about 3rd Gear and synchro for the '99-'00 Civic Si trannies. Which had a different part#. But I don't think theres' any different with the "R"/GSR trannies.

I got my brand new Spoon assembled CTR transaxle for $1600 2.5 yrs ago. So, relatively speaking, the price is a bit high. However, I believe that a brand new transaxle is worth a lot more than used ones since people tend to be very rough on them. The peace of mind is worth the extra $$$ IMO.

$1900 is a good price, Especially as they are on Back order! , I got my Type R tranny from a friend at Acura( With a Hook Up ) for $1850. If I had the cash I would buy it as a back up.
