Aftermarket Bumper installation
I'm going to be purchasing a new front bumper for my 98 Civic. It's going to be a Buddy Club style front end made of fiberglass. I'm going install it myself because I can't afford to pay someone $100 to drill a couple of holes. Removing my stock bumper is super easy so I don't think it'll be that hard. I'm just curious though, what will I need to do to install it? I'll be drilling several holes to attach it to the top of the bumper where the upper grill is, but I'm curious about how these bodykits are secured on the underside of the car. If anyone has installed their own fiberglass bumper then I'd appreciate hearing about your experience. Also, are there any special concerns when drilling small holes into fiberglass? Should self tapping screws be used to secure the bumper to the top portion of the front end instead of the stock plastic holders that the bumper is using right now? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
