electric prob
i got an 88 civic 1.5 it cranks but doesnt start got new gistributor and ignition switch when i switche the switch it started then the next day went to doing the same thing crank but no start. ecu is throwing a code 15 defective or missing ignition output signal. what could it be?
Did you replace the distributor with a new OEM unit, or an aftermarket one? The quality of many aftermarket distributors is less than acceptable. Code #15 indicates a problem in the distributor-check all wires in the distributor carefully and check the wiring between the ECU and the distributor. Did you plug in both connectors to the distributor? If the distributor is good, the problem is probably something simple. Nine times out of ten, these kinds of problems are something that we have overlooked. It happens to the best of us.
i replaced the entire distributor and it is good i also replaced the ignition switch i am getting the main relay tomorrow to see if its that but if it isnt what else could it be?
