I really have no experience, but Zygspeed is building one. I would really like to know to. The only problem i can think of is the cooling, but other than that, it has to be OK. Rally cars and others are Turbo'd 4's that run for long periods of time and work reliably.

I would worry about traction when accelerating out of a turn with a turbo setup. I know a few guys up here who can't keep any traction while accelerating through the first couple of gears going straight let alone turning with their turbo setups. But I guess if you do it right and do well with turbo selection i say

SLicks, Apexi AVCR gear dependend boost option = kicks azz. Did 10+ AutoX past season and 2 track meet, never had overheating problems. Runned only 0.8 Bar on the track and not 1.2 Bar like on road. Just to stay safe.

I load a richer mixture fuel table into my Haltech when I track my baby. Just to stay safe.

if you knwo how to control the boost and lag i dont see it being a problem , just gotta know what the car likes and what it doesnt like to make it work for you in that scenario

how much boost at these cat's running? I'm thinking a mildly (5-7psi) boosted ITR would not really be making that much more power then a well built toda spec C engine...
And does anyone have anymore information on this apexi gear dependant bost thingie?

if you're really worried about road racing, i suggest forgetting the turbo...get some decent coil-overs(real ones) and then spend the rest of your money on tires, brake pads, and driving schools

i hate to dsay it but there are guys here making anywhere from 230-280and change to thew wheels on 7-8 psi , depends on how good they are tuned. . . i dont think a good toda set up will touch it unless you got like Lips motor and road racing with it .

got all that stuff, now I want more power. I'm not worried about road racing, or even driving schools for that matter. I just think it would be fun to turbocharge an ITR, sort out all the issues associated with making a boosted ITR reliable on the track, and have a really fun car to drive to work.
and I don't think a high compression, big cam could make as much power as a boosted car, but I would expect a spec C/CTR piston B18 would make about 230 whp, and I would expect a safely tuned ITR to make about 250-260. I guess that is about the same ball park, but I've never driven either a built NA or boosted ITR, so I'm just guessing.

Sounds like they need to learn that the throttle is not a digital input.
