due to the mixed reviews and the loss of power from the J's, i'd say buy a comptech ice box instead.

comptech ice box|JDM4-1 header/DC JDM 4-1|T1R b-pipe

I think that would net you the best/most aount of power for the least bit of money...

I had alot of trouble seeing tonight with the road salt from the snow on my headlights, I wish I had HIDs so i could see better...

I would try for the HIDs if I were you- SAFTEY first.

A fast car and not being able to see is worthless!

What the F***? LOSS of power? Huh?

I have one. I put my stock box back in and tested. There's definitely no 'loss' of power. There's definite gain. Is it as much as other intakes? I'm really not sure, but its got the best power increase of any shortram. I also had an AEM. To be honest, I like the J's better. So much so, that I repaired my J's intake and put it back in IMMEDIATELY.

Have any proof that it is a power-loser?

loss of power from the J's
Seriously people, who said the J's LOST power? Compared to what?

Anyone who wants to compare, I'll send you my entire stock box/resonator and you can test with your J's, if that is what is being insinuated.

I'm not trying to start a J's vs other aftermarket intakes, I'm assuming that this statement

'loss of power from the J's'

means that the J's loses power compared to the stock intake. That is absolutely false.

I'll give you the mixed reviews part, but lets not spread information that has a) no basis whatsoever and b) is just false.

Chris N simmmmmer down.

I guess I was a little vague when i posted, but I was stating that people have claimed to LOSE power over other AFTERMARKET CAI intakes. IE. AEM and COMPTECH. Anyhow, dyno and prove me wrong. I want to know as much as everybody else does.

Dyno your AEM and stock. I am sure it gains over the stock, but I am not sure about the AEM or comptech. We STILL don't have solid dyno graphs on the J's, or people DO have dyno graphs and just don't want to post them.

I dont' have my AEM anymore. I can dyno J's vs. stock + resonator.

Ahah! you said it loses power over other CAI's. It isn't a cold air intake, that's the key. It's just a short ram with a large bulge in the middle.

We shouldn't compare it to CAI's. How is that a fair comparison? I will dyno it vs. stock just so we can all see it does SOMETHING. Put it this way, I was very VERY unhappy when I took the J's out and put the stock box + resonator back in.

Edit: I was not 'getting crazy' or anything. I don't understand why blatantly wrong info has to be given out. Anyhoo, not what we all have that figured out. :fire:

it wasn't wrong info, it was vague information. the reason why it CAN be compares i the fact that the J's racing intake is $240 and the other two are in the same price range.

throttle response can be deceptive. i feel like my car is more RESPONSIVE and torquey when i put my silencer in my exhaust, but in fact, on the dyno it produces less power down low and up top.
