stock radiators are crap....those plastic caps like to crack and leak

Obviously getting an upgraded radiator is a nice idea. I have to wonder what the specs are on the engine though. In other words, the engine has to be "warmed up" to work properly, and some of these radiators do too good of a job.

All this being said, the Fluidyne looks like a nice piece. It requires different fans for fitment reasons. When the radiator on my '96 blew I opted for a generic replacement (factory copy) that was $144. To me, it was a far better value than paying $300 for the Fluidyne and another $1xx for the fans.

I'll be using Koyo. Good quality but a bit pricey. Try Fluiy if your on a budget.

so do you guys think that the stock radiator and oil cooler aren't good enough on the r if you are going to be doing a lot of road course racing?? I have all of the stock stuff, just with the ac condenser out of the way.

I have the Fluidyne and if you don't have AC...uh....fat chance you don't..the stock fan goes on just fine.

But I also found out that with the bigger rad. The Spoon 1 pce header doesn't clear, unless you trim the plastic shroud around the fan slightly. I don't want to drop any money for a slim line fan, so I just opted to remove the fan altogether.

Hope with the low temp thermostat and bigger rad...overheating is no problem...but then again, our temps here don't reach any higher than 10degC this time of year....hehe...

Koyo and Fluidyne both require new fans. (with A/C). I would get the Koyo over the fluidyne, although when it all comes down to it, there not really much of a difference, only about $30 Of course there is always the Feels, Spoon, Mugen and other high priced bling

Keep in mind, this isn't a NECESSARY upgrade in 9/10 cases.

Don't feel like you NEED to buy one.

I'm running the thicker KOYO compared to a Fluidyne. I also run a SPOON 4-2-1 one piece. I removed the a/c fan and haven't had any heating issues. The only thing compared to a Fluidyne, the stock fan won't bolt back up as it would with a Fluidyne. I never had any radiator issues before, I only wanted to dress up the engine and free up some space. The Koyo was nicer than the Fluidyne. You won't notice this unless you directly see each in front of you. I noticed this difference 2 years ago at IAS.

Thanks,
Victor

I have NO personal data to base this on, but the C&R appears to do as good a job as the others, and it seems a hell of a buy with fans... and no complaints that I've heard of to date... people here have gotten it for a bit less than the $489.95 list price... then again, unless your really putting a heavy thermal load on the engine, why do you really need one?

Yup... a couple of my friends are using that set-up, others are using Koyo w/ a stock ITR Fan
