What type of LSD in Y1 tranny?
What type of LSD does the Y1 with opt. LSD tranny have? I believe it is a clutch type LSD, but I want to make sure. Are there any issues with this type of LSD? I know the clutches will wear out? How quickly? Any experiences?
Thanks

Hum, I am more confused than I was before. I read at some places that all honda LSDs are helical LSDs, and now I'm hearing they're viscous an clutch-type. Any more options?

I'm looking at buying a Y1 LSD tranny, but the J1 tranny has shorter gears. I don't care about highway driving and gas mileage because this car is going to be a track only car in a few years. I probably won't be able to afford to throw a quaife LSD if I buy a J1 tranny, so are the Y1 gears that much longer than the J1 tranny?

Here's an old thread on some problems people have with these trannies. The chatter problem hasn't been solved yet, but I may have found a solution, haven't tried yet though.
