I need to make sure if the IAB for the secondarys are working on my H22. Is it possible to put the car in the air and run it through the gears and have someone watch the diaphram to see if it pulls the valve open? if not is there a way to do it?

 

I guess noone has a GSR or H22 in their civics huh?

 

they are open when the car is off, and turn on when you start the car, if they are closed when its on then they are working.. if you have everything connected that is.. they will turn on around 4200 rpm if using a P13 and you can hear them especially in 2nd gear..

ok.. so if it in one postion when off and I turn the car on and it's in the other position then it should be working right? I do have everything connected(except egr). The reason I ask is because I lost to an older 5.0 on rt 80 today.

Chameleon: I found out why my idle was fucked up the day of the meet, it turned out to be the fast idle control valve it unsrewed itself, it wasnt the EGR.

Jason: I was reallt looking foward to seeing your car at the meet but oh well till next time I guess.

 

Well although the older stangs arent fast generally they still can kick *** especially on top end.. But for all you know he was juicing, and with that you have no chance..

BTW, how is your gas mileage..?? As for now I am getting like 100m to the tank. I am going to pull my plugs sometime this week and check them though...

And do you still get the code for EGR?

Just out of curiousity, when does VTEC and the IAB's open on the H22? Is the VTEC then IAB like on the C1 or vice-versa?

 

IABs : Around 4k RPM
Vtec: Around 5.2k RPM and 5.5k RPM for SIR/Type S

B series engines are visa versa..

 

I'm getting about 250 miles to a tank. I am getting an EGR code about 5 minutes after I start driving the car. Is there any way to get rid of this code besides wiring it up or removong the CEL bulb?

 

Only way to solve is to wire it up. Or get an ECU program that doesnt look for it.. I am not sure if the Spoon chip looks for EGR or not. I do know that with my JDM p13 I dont get the code.. I will have more info once I get the ECU back with the spoon chip in it.. I am still going to just block off the EGR though..
