Type R Brakes are amazing.
I don't know why people upgrade their ITR setup but man, going from my GF's 00 DX brakes and then my ITR's is like night and day.
Just wanted to see if you guys felt the same

i was at buttonwillow once and the instructor for the driving school i was attending was giving me my orientation lap around the track and when he hit the brakes before the first turn the car damn near stopped about 15 feet from where he was planning on stopping. he then said to me "so you have aftermarket brakes i see. nice setup i like it" to which i replied "no, they're stock"
needless to say he had a new respect for the itr which continued to grow throughout the rest of the orientation lap

I used to own a 95 civic DX and know what yer talking about. DX brakes are like 9 inch front rotors with drums in the rear. Total and utter crap compared to an R. The R's abs system also amazes me, as it engaged when i hit a patch of ice the other night.

to ITR brakesYeah . think it's more than good enough for street and some tracks.
when i testdrove rsx-s.. The brake's not as good a R and when i got back to my car.. i was
actually smiling.. i was so happy i owned a R not rsx-s
I don't want to make anyone upset, but I have to disagree with sackdz. When I had my S2000 and then went back to the R one thing that I really noticed and liked better with the R was the brakes, but I have read different tests with different magazines and I have read that they are actually very close in stopping distance.
I haven't been out to the track yet...but I have to say that the brakes on the R continue to amaze me. Just messing around with my friends sometimes...I go to show them how good that it stops...and I still, after owning the car for more than a year) don't fully anticipate how fast it stops...needless to say all my friends (honda owners, yet not Type R owners) are utterly amazed.
i have stock calipers, lines, and pads...last time i went to buttonwillow (my first track event), the brakes felt very crisp and responsive at the beginning of the day. however, as the day went on...the brakes definitely did get mushy. my pads were not gripping as well. as each lap passed, i kept pushing the limits further and further. only thing was that the brakes kept getting mushier and mushier
i only engaged abs on the last two runs of the day.
to those who haven't been on the track, you haven't used the full extent of your brakes
(mike and yoshi, you guys were right
)
kepani-who still needs to flush his fluid

I agree. ITRs do have awesome brakes. They feel great and stop like there's no tomorrow. I also like the Toyota Celica GTS brakes but they don't feel as good as my ITR, but according to Motor Trend and other automobile magazines they are very close if not better.

shi - who tried various pads and fluids to no avail
