Default 35mm Tail wastegate clearance

Does anyone have a problem with the clearance problem for the 35 mm tial wastegate ? Mines is hitting the top of the hood unless I remove the top vacumm source for the EBC? Can I leave it off ? Or can I do anything else ?

here's a pic w/ the wastegate pointing up.

Thanks, Khang

You can't post pics from imagestation.

I wouldn't leave the top port off, connect it to the EBC.

Either slam the hood down and have a little dimple in the hood, or get the 90 degree elbow so the wastegate will be horizontal and will clear the hood line.

you can link images from imagestation, you just have to delete "orig.jpg" at the end.

I'd also like to know where i could buy an elbow and whats the price

yeah, everything went through smooth. I even polish the turbo too.. I need to get pics of the turbo for you ASAP.. I got more pics. The car started up w/o any problem with the hondata even though it took me a while to get it together. You gave me everything needed to put the kit together ... EVEN EXTRA SPARK PLUG !!! but you left a hole in the manifold hehe .... thank alot Levi.

here are just a few of them I already posted

Lol...yea, I couldn't do much about the hole for the egt...it is in a pretty bad place too. But hey, I guess thats how to learn.

I'm getting another turbo kit though.......

How did the return line work out?

hehe....yeah, dont worry I bought an EGT for the manifold already and the oil return line fits perfect. It goes around the downpipe without touching it. I bought a b16 oil pan already tap with -10 an bung but the oil pan didnt fit. So I had an extra -10an bung.... had to get it welded to the b18 pan.

for the oil feed line, it is little bit too long.. Is there any way I can shorten it ?

What kind of turbo kit are you getting and is it for your b16 ?

Keep in mind that the elbow is made for the DRAG turbo manifold but will fit others.

Really. How bad is it though ? Will it dent your hood like it will on my setup . I rather spiderweb my hood than cause a lil dent on it. Thank alot.

****...I was going to take a picture before I left. Its kind of sad... I have two spiderwebs from when I DIDNT have the elbow...and then one more from now when I DO have the elbow...

edit: I have a carbon fiber hood...My friend with the stock hood had a lil nip a doodle in his hood (errrr...dent)

In my GSR the wastegate hits, and I have a small dent in the hood. It's been hitting since March, and it's still just a little dent. Hasn't gotten any worse.

Do you think the JDM hood for an Ef would solve the problem of having that ugly little dent?

I think you use another fitting for the top. I think Dustin used one but I do not know which kind it was. I think that also clears the hood. The threads are different it will go in.

File down the top fitting. I took a good 1/2 inch off of it just to make sure, and still has lots of aluminum left and doesn't hit the hood.

you really dont need the vacumm port on the top till you get a boost controller anyways.. so take it off until you get a boost controller... or call RevHard Mfg they have necks and custom necks for most manifold on the market..!!
