Default Anyone heard of the R1 FMIC-style Intake?

I was browsing through ebay the other day and i stumbled accross a fmic intake for 4gen ludes and integras. I was curious as to if anyones heard of them- any preformance specs? It seems like a somewhat shoddy product but it could also be pretty sweet. Check it- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1922003922
Peace

There hasn't been any dyno testing publicly shared in how those perform, but they haven't ever gotten a warm welcome from anyone on the forums I read.

Physics doesn't like those intakes.

can you elaborate? i mean it gets air as cold as any CAI right? i know it mainly a bite off of front mount intercoolers but i would still think that it has more gains than an underhood style intake.
PS- thias style would probably make it MUCH easier to hydrolock your engine too.

I think this is the main problem besides the obvious stunna/ricer appeal

I agree with that- as well as the 'stunna appeal' comment. I think its a good idea to a limited extent. I will be getting a CAI soon but i have no idea which to get- i was thinking an AEM short ram, or an HKS filter, perhaps an Apex'i system.

Yes, the intake air temp. will be the same as with a cai, but the FM version has more bends to get to the throttle body. Also, the air will have to change its direction 90 degrees to get into the tubing, where as with a cai it can just flow into the tubing head on.
