OT: Anyone else hear of the '03 Civic Type-R 30th Anniversary Edition?
I stumbled onto this while reading about some Cali guys and their EVO VII's & VIII's. Seems legit and looks pretty good - for a '03 CTR.

Sweet car!

We'll never see it though.

No idea. i wouldn't want a right hand drive car in the states though. unless it was a mail truck.
it is legit..its for the UK market.. its not like a photochop or anything. its the same version that they send to japan with lsd and recaros, because the regular UK version doesnt have lsd (its an option i think) and it doesnt have recaros (has honda made type-R seats) and also has some lil badges signifying its the aniverary version
That would be great if it had an RSX-S motor and Brembo DC5-R brakes!

The car That Site is selling is for the European Market which all use LHD, But includes the UKDM Cluster which is MPH The LSD is an option as are 1 or 2 other parts.
Hey, cool. An overweight Civic with mediocre suspension architecture. What'll they think of next?

Why would anyone swap out a "ITR/CTR" engine and put in a "gsr" engine ??
RSX-S??? whaa what? why not K20R engine?

I think we very often get into emulating whatever the version is that we don't get. The USDM EP3Si is 160 HP. The EP3 CTR is 200 HP.
I guess maybe some hot shoes will want to put the 220 HP DC5 ITR motor in an EP3...it'd be very expensive, but very do-able.
The 200 HP motor in an EP3 is much less expensive, because there are thousands of those motors already sold in the USDM.

why would anyone want to get a CTR and swap out the engine to RSX-S's engine?

Not doubting you Mike but why is the CTR in the pix a RHD with red recaros rather than the Si euro ctr seats and LHD?

Maybe they only have an official picture of an RHD version? The main difference between a normal CTR and the 30th anni edition are the Red Recaros.....

Maybe!?
Maybe!?
The UKDM CTR 30th's do not have LSD, even as an option.
Over the STD CTR they gain:
Recaros.
Tinted rear windows
Red carpets/door trims.
30th Aniversery badges.
A/C std.
They are nice cars. As fast if not slighty faster than the ITR, not quite so good round corners but close. They are not as reliable as the ITR's thou (comes from being made in england), and there are a fair few reports of problems with them.

Well assembled in england then...
Either way they're not put together like the Jap Hondas.
