Default civic/CRX wiring

Just to let all of you know. The rear harness of a civic dosent match up with the plugs from a Crx si under dash harness.

90 Civic si rear harness plug.

91 si CRX under-dash plug to rear harness.

So Im wondering if I can straight splice, (id need schematics...wire colors dont match), or if I have to swap in the crx rear harness. Will the rear crx harness even work? I have an 88-89 CRX rear harness, is that compatable with the 90-91 CRX under-dash harness? I know the 88-89/90-91 harnesses have differences, but that plug looks like it will work.

Edit: the crx harness has 9 wires, the civic rear harness has 12...what are the extra 3 wires for?

Any, and all help is appreciated

-Jake

I know for a fact the AC/Heat controls do not use the same plugs.
For one, the CRX uses electric motors to move the air select/vents, while the Civic uses a cable to do the same job.
Also, you will find differences even within CRX's. You cannot just swap a 90/91 cluster to an 88/89 CRX dash, they are wired differently.

hey man if you are swapping dashes the civic gauge cluster will fit with no problems just transfer the harness onto the cRX dash. thats what i did. then i found out the damn dash doesnt fit in a 4th gen sedan. the dash curves to much near the windshield so it has a nasty nasty gap

He's not swapping out the dashes or anything his harness was cut in his hatch and hes trying to wire in a CRX under dash harness. He is now having problems with getting the rear section of his hatch to work with the CRX under dash harness there not the same...
