Basicly just like the topic sais, how much rpm can the stock B18C1 bottom end take??
I'm looking to upgrade my springs and retainers in my head and leave the bottom end stock for this coming season, so I started wondering....???

I have had a few B18C1's and they all saw 9000rpm . I wouldn't go much past that without balancing ect. Sh*t is really flying around at that speed! You could also use a lightened flywheel and get the crank pulley balanced too , that will help a bit.

 

Ah yes, but the top half of the motor isn't what would concern me the most. Dropping a valve sucks, but when rodbolts snap and Rod/Piston comes up...That can't be fun either.
Have to think about those little buggers too

Sweet, thanks for the replys you guys 9000k is what I wanted to hear!!!
I might even go the extra mile balance my crank, get some arp rod bolts, new bearings and piston rings that way my motor will be freshened up and ready to go...

factory balancing is pretty good. It say take it to 10,000 with the head done.
