Default 12 sec NA??

After reading a some recent post on NA and turbo R's my mind has begun to sway from going to turbo to stay na. Is it possible to hit 12's not like 12.99 but decently well into the 12's like 12.7, 12.8 or so. If so what kinda of things might help to do that. I actully have an ek coupe with an itr swap. Also keep in mind completely stripping the car is not an option...however somethings will be.

Your engine is going to need to be a breather.

Toda C's + compression + ITB's + excellent header/exhaust + tuning = ~220 whp

You will also need slicks (or drag radials at the least) because you will be needing as much traction help as you can.

SgT would be a great person to talk to about trying to build a motor to reach that potential.

ITB's not needed. And yes, talk to Steve (SgT).

o I see. I don't really wanna take my seats out cause it is a daily driver. yea I am moving down to some 16" pro n1's or maybe rotas. None of you mentioned any kinda of head porting or resleeving or vavle jobs or anything. Alright for my other plan with the turbo I was going to resleeve the block get forged pistons and rods new head gasket and a new block for all this plus the turbo. I was looking at spending about 7-8 thousand. So with in those parameters what can I do. 7 gs enough cause I know Toda is up there. I forget how much for the Spec Cs. Those won't give me a rough idle will they??

bro, youre gonna need all of the above block work...depends on what head youre using...im gonna see what i make with 84mm sleeved block and forged internals, higher comp and cams...tunign is a given.

you should ckeck out http://www.importbuilders.com , real nice and knowledgable guys. ship them your longblock and theyll have it back to you making as much as you want, all depends on your pocket book.

good luck

. you dont need ITB , thats what my goal is at pamdale (which should be no problem ) and corrected time would be mid 12's ...

Ericksracing B18c 2.0L
12.3CR
Toda Spec D cams
FD 4.9
440cc
Hondata (and lots of tunning )

Man you going to have a rough idle with TODA C's. I friend of mine was getting 12.86 out of his Type-R. I don't know much about his setup, but i know he was running a 13.1 compression and he had the head ported and polished with toda b's. I don't know what pistons he was running or what he did to the block, i do know it was an ITR block though. He had slicks also on slipstreams.

If your plans are to have comforts and go 12s you already going down the wrong path. You have a EJ coupe (EK=hatch) and you want to go 12.7 NA it better be VERY light, so expect to get every bit of that weight out or make some serious HP, in which your drivability will be slightly different (IE not that great of idle, etc).

there is a guy on here that i met at a meet. he is sponsored by area 51

he had just basic motor work. stock bottom end and aggresive cams. then converted to 4 lug because of lightness and being able to put smaller slicks on

he was into the 12's

I see, so its looking like the turbo is gonna be better choice as far as having the time and having the comfort and being daily driven. O well thanks for the information.

Gordon or Bustanutt-616 is consistent in the high 12's with his Jun 3 setup and Hondats tuning. Check out SGT's site http://www.SGT-Racing.com, Gordons' R is the PY one, shows his setup.

it would, but not if you build it all up, like bottom end and everything. it would cost about the same, but yeah turbo would give you a bit more POWER
