you have to take off the panels and remove the sidemoldings by unclipping it.

You do not need to take off your door panels to remove the moldings.

I watched the bodyshop take off and put mine on and within 5min they were off.

I don't want to leave mine on. I want them taken off and properly painted and clear coated. Please don't tell me to leave them on and mask around them, this is pointless, it's not what we are asking. If anyone has taken off the moulding can you please give us suggestion on how to do this with out breaking the pins/clips.

You have to take off the panels to do it right. Otherwise you risk bending the molding or breaking the clips. Take off the panels. For the doors there are 6 clips and one plastic nut, take off the nut, squeeze the clips one by one starting from one side and slowly pop out the molding so you don't bend the molding. It also has some tape. Just push gently and the tape should give. For the rear molding there are only 3 clips, just start from one side and squeeze the clips one by one while pushing out gently. Same thing for the sedan, just different number of clips per molding. Hope that helps.

You need to take off the inner door panels and the back seat inside plastic parts. This will give you access to the clips.

Acura has the part numbers for the clips.

Its easy.
