I'm swapping a b16a into my eg hatch in the next bit and I want to do a few mods to it.
What type of gains would I see with B16B/CTR cams and pistons copled with i/h/e?

You'll see pretty good gains with CTR pistions and CTR cams compared to stock. You'll feel the power in the higher rpm but a few recommends would be to lighten your fly wheel. You can lighten your stock flywheel to about 11-10 lbs at a mechine shop (make sure they can do the work and rebalance the f/wheel). I wouldnt go any lighter then that do to a slight loss in the low end hp. Adjustable cam gears and a hondata s100 or s200 to best tune your motor or at least a apexi vtec controler and a dyno. The rest really depends on the money. You could resleeve your block to 84.5mm (added displacement), you'll need new pistons, rods, lighten your crank or possibly stroke you crank another way to add displacement, balance your bottom end if you do this work. Port and polish you head, skunk or Jun cams, Webcam or Portflow valve springs and retainers. Itr intake valves. RC 310 cc injectors, FPRegulator, Walbro fuel pump....etc. I was getting carried away but just giving you and idea.....good luck

Alright I think I'll drop it the b16b cams and pistons along with a stage 3 clutch and maybe a clutchmasters lightened fly wheel, like 9.5lbs or something close to that.
How about chipping the ECU with the J's Racing program and running a v-afc?

You can reprogram your stock p30 or get a p28 reprogramed with a mugen, skunk or check what kinda program they costomize. Check with Jdmhondaparts, or someone local in your area. v-afc = apexi vtec controler. With a hondata you can custom your mapping in your ecu, control vtec, rev limiter, and more. The hondata s100, and s200 will be a better deal then reprograming you stock ecu and adding a v-afc. Check out http://www.hondata.com

good choice on those first mods. Especially a lightened flywheel.....thats the single most best stand-alone upgrade for even a stock engine. It totally liven's up an engine.
I say fuqua a J's program, go with the infamous OBD1 Mugen program for your ECU. It's a guaranteed power maker (5+hp) especially with CTR cams and high compression engine. (plug time) If you need your ecu reprogrammed hit me up/check my sig out for more info ..heh..

"I wouldnt go any lighter then that do to a slight loss in the low end hp"
FALSE.
You will NOT LOOSE one bit of power from your motor, in fact it will help it to rev faster with a lighter FW. But could make daily driving a touch harder.
