I know its been asked but, should I go with dc sports or skunk2 short shifter ?
Here is where I am at in my thinking process, dc sports shortins the throw by 50 % and it never says on skunk2 website how shorter it makes the throws, but the skunk 2 is steal. What do you guys think ?
Get a GS-R short shifter, I have a generic one and its peachy. I would get the Skunk2 shifter for GS-R I like the looks better, but I'm not a big fan of DC anyways. Price over function....
Short Shifter = Waste of money
All it will do is make you grind gears, wont make you shift any faster..

i have dc short shifter... never had any probs with it... if i'm not mistaken, the gsr short throws have 2 bends in them, correct me if i'm wrong... and i didn't know they would fit on a crx... if so, on what year gsr should i buy one from?
definitely get the skunk2 shifter - then you can get the matching 450g skunk2 shift ****.
also the skunk2 is made out of steel - i broke two solo shortshifters which are made of the same material the dc sports one is.
i have the GSR skunk2 shifter in my car (it fits fine, i heard only a GSR shortshifter will fit our cars, not the stock GSR shifter)
and heres what it looks like now, with the skunk2 shift ****

... i'm thinking of scrapping my dc short throw for the skunk2... what year gsr did you buy yours for?... i've heard of people having problems with the skunk **** fitting the skunk shifter... have you had any?

I have a Hurst short shifter and I've never ground any gears because of it. If you grind gears you should probably point the finger at the driver, not the shifter.
eh, sorry to butt into this thread but I've got a quick question.
I've got a generic SS off of ebay and it works great, nice short throws, but it sits extremely high as do most I've read. I think this looks stupid having an inch gap between the boot and ****.
I've also seen a lot of pictures where the **** sits really close to the console and it looks better.. What SS actually sits lower, but doesn't interfere with the exhaust work.

This is a complete myth. short shifters do not grind gears. letting the clutch up to fast grinds gears. not the shifter.

I've got the DC, the in the bottom instead of a poly bushing or anything like that, it has metal ball bushings. Pretty nice I must say. Other 4th gen shifters i've tried are the hurst ones, I know its sounds a little odd but I really liked how it felt, how it moved, location it puts the **** at, etc.
that's a pretty sweet setup

"i have the GSR skunk2 shifter in my car (it fits fine, i heard only a GSR shortshifter will fit our cars, not the stock GSR shifter)"
"Are you saying that the straight shaft skunk2 doesnt fit EFs? cuz that is incorrect. Mine has one with the matching **** and it works wonderfully. just an FYI"
I would go with a an eBay shifter. IMHO a short shifter is a short shifter. They can be had in chrome or any color you like for under $15.00 brand new. Why waste money? The only time I would spend more was if I could get an adjustable one.
