As my friends on this board and some of the other HT members know, my engine suffered a major damage..

I have to make a decision:


New (short)block: 3800 Euros

or

Used engine plus everything that`s under the hood
65.000km, service book
From dealer and shipped: 5200 Euros.
There`s another HT member who would take the parts I don`t need for 1500 Euros
So I would pay for the used longblock roundabout 3500 Euros.


My plan is to leave my next engine stock! Just my bolt ons I already own (the best, money can buy) and a better ECU like Mugen or spoon for example.

I think, #01858`s engine broke because I used an incorrect valvetrain (JUN stage II + crower valvetrain). I was told, the crower and the JUn valvetrain is similar though.

Doesn`t matter now. I am heading for track racing, so primary target is balance and suspension.

But what would you do ? New or used ???
