There are many different seam sealer products that can be used. I have a Greddy front lip on my '99 Si that broke in about 5 different places, I even lost a small section. My body man used this urethane repair/seam sealer and we sanded and shaped and you could never tell it was broken. Go to your local automotive paint supply store and ask them for this type of product. It is exspensive but it won't crack or expand and it can be shaped. This is one application where fiberglass won't work. Good Luck.
The product costs about $30 per tube and $4 for the special tips. You also need a special application gun.

so ask for urethane repair/seam sealer?
do u know the process by chance? i'm thinking its like, squeeze some out of the tube in the crevice between the bumper and lip... let it dry for a few minutes and sand it down smooth?
and is the application gun the same as the ones used for silicon?
thanks a bunch

Basically the job is how you describe it wait till it dries and go to town. There is a 12 hour dry time though.

cool... thanks for the help
i have one last question and will probably sound stupid... but what are the differences between wet sanding and just regular sanding? or is it the same process but with wet sandpaper? i've worked with fiberglass and have never had to wet sand so i'm not too familiar

what you really want to get is "plastics/urethane repair". A company called Duramix produces some of this stuff. Or you can use plstic welding.
Seam sealer is a different product used to seal panel joints, usually seen in the engine bay, and trunk area.....so its basically a soft rubbery glue-which is NOT what you want.

hey you guys think the seam sealer or the urathane repair would be good for molding in a wingwest sideskirts on a 90 civic hatch?
The best thing to do is to ask your local automotive paint supply store. You can use a seam sealer (there are many different types for different applications). That is why it is good to ask someone that caters specifically to bodyshops not PepBoys. Most sealers remain flexible so even if the skirt flexes a bit it won't crack.
duramix is truly amazing, i've never used the urathane stuff but the fiberglass adhesive is great for gluing on fender flares. so strong!!! but the gun alone is like 50$, 26$ for the adhesive, and like 12$ for 5 tips.
