1. Whats the best D-SERIES engine to use for an ALL MOTOR streat beast?

2. What kind of high compression pistons can you use? Rods? Crankshaft? (AFTERMARKET)

3. Hows the d16y8 vs the d16z6 and d16a6 and d16z7? (which one better for N/A Buildup?)

4. Which is going to give me strongest bottom end?

5. What kind of bottom and head to use?

6. And most importantly, if built up right, how much power do you think i'll be making?

Best setup for N/A:

D16Z6 Block, D16Y8 head, intake manifold. (higher compression. the Y8 head is a better design, but the Z6 bottom end is stronger.

 

WHo makes good high compression pistons for d-series

 

You might want to think of this option. There is a guy i see down the local drag strip and he is running an all moter zc. He has everything on this motor

chiped ecu (not sure which one)

i belive crower cams.
Thats all i can think of off the top of my head. Anyway he is running low 13's on street tires. Not sure what his hp or torque is but im sure it pretty high

ZC is DOHC right? isnt it hard to find parts for it?

 

ZC is a DOHC and yes, parts can be hard to find. Frankly, i see more potential in a d16z6 or y8. Cost is not much higher if at all and you have a lot more parts to choose from. Plus you get vtech and that is always a good thing

The D16A6 is a great engine. Here will be my setup:

Cam
Skunk2 Cam gear
Header
Intake
Exhaust

shooting for a 14.9.

Header 4-2-1 installed
AEM/fabricated CAI installed
D16y8 Intake manifold with teg TB ready to install just need a B&M FPR
AEM cam gear searching rite now at classified for use one lol
many more to come

 

i want to get the most power out of it and hit the 13's hopefully in my 88 CRX

which tranny to use? the newer EX(US) or Si(CDN)
