Ok I was out tonight practicing lift throttle oversteer correction. Got comfortable kicking the back end out and correcting it. Then I decided to swap the back end twice. Cut hard left under throttle, cut back right and lift, backend steps out, counter steer with throttle, car starts to correct, then lift again, car steps out big time to the other side and ActiveAero spins out. No big deal...until I get back up to cruising speed. At about 70mph the car has a ton of vibration. Now I've flat spotted the tires before by pulling the ebrake at 90mph and doing a 180 on an airport runway but nothing like this and I was only going 45-50mph. I tried burning out the front tires (to wear them down) but that did nothing so I'm guessing its the back. Could I have done something else?
Ya could have bent something or knocked off a wheel weight...
A pothole took off one(or more) of mine...scared the poo out of me. I thought that damn pothole messed something really bad.
Good luck

I feel that its probably not wheel weights since lots of ather factors will cause the vibrations you mentioned.
1. bent lca's (which tend to bend on DC2/EG6 when you do lots of drifting)
2. flat spots aren't that far fetched since it sounds like you did dome serious skidding
3. and/or a bent rim

Also if he spun out while practicing the correction of lift throttle oversteer, it is pretty safe to say that he was not hard on the brakes when he spun. Dragging a locked wheel for a long period of time is the only way to flatspot a tire, but this isn't what happened with AA.
I'd also suggest that you have all four wheels rebalanced.
Maybe he's aware of a case where a non-ITR DC2, on R-compounds, with no ABS and locked wheels, flat spotted a tyre.

-Dave, who has flat spotted tyres in his GS-R.. no ABS owns me when I'm used to ABS in that car.
good thing about ABS is that you don't flat spot tires.....It's real fun when you are going around the course at VIR and your driver is putting the ABS on for fun. (willard)hehehe
I've never heard of anyone bending a LCA as a result of *** dragging....
Neither have I, but I didn't want to argue.

If this occurs, I would love to hear how since bending a LCA would require a great deal of force.
Why did you disconnect the GS-R ABS?

Yeah - you could have tried to not be a fucktard on public roads . . .
. Rural Alabama and paved private property ownz Drew.Found out that the problem was a piece of caked dirt stuck to my rim. Washed it off and cars runs smooth as silk again. Thats crazy that a clump of dirt can cause it to shake that bad. Makes sense though since it was about 20 times heavier than any wheel weight.

i was actually going to say check the wheel for debris, D and i did alot of snow sliding in my GS-R on a ski trip, and on the way back we hit highway speed and things were VERY shaky...i was a bit freaked i'd fubared something, but we got out and looked to find the wheels completely packed with uneven amounts of snow...a few miles for it to melt and it was all good again.
i have extrasensory perception of unbalanced wheels, and they make me nuts. Glad it was the cheapest fix of all
