Battery Light on again, =*(
Well... b4 my battery light would blink on and off ... changed teh alternator, then it's all fine, one day my tranny slips over revs to 6000 and then car flashes everything goes blank, and then stereo, gauge lights, and everything else is fine but the batterylight remains, it can't be the alternator because i can hear it whine, i dunno what it is.. should i just reset the ECU?
i don't know what to do!!!
btw! anyone know a white EF 4dr with black bumpers and a roll cage?
saw one when my car messed up =*( in the greater toronto area?

the alternator whined when it was installed, i think it's not charging properly because the lights would get brighter.. but it fixed the battery light problem now i think it over charged or something and it's stays on now
check all the wires are ground right and the battery is ground ummm... did you buy the alternator from where... if it is a kragen cheap... maybe return it and spend a lil more for a better one cuz the cheapie clunk out..... if not then maybe the main relay.. needs to be fixed...

okay if it whines, it may mean that the belt was too tight, and if the belt is too tight it will overload the bearing which in turn can burn out a diode, which will reduce the output of the alternator thus causing the battery light to come on!!
Just a thought!!

car up the battary and see if it dies again... then it should be sure its the alt...
put a volt meter on the battery while the car is running, you should be getting around 14V, if you're only getting like 12 or less, then its probably your alternator

there's nothing wrong with wal-mart i guess (i shop there lots), but i don't like momos...they try to shove they're half-*** religion down your throat every chance they get.
i say bleh!
Go to Autozone have them test your alternator and battery for starters....2nd if its whining its the bearings probably in the alternator....3rd make sure theirs enough tension on the belt for the alternator I did it once and just didn't put enough tension on it and it stayed on and cut the car off.... Good luck
See what the system charges at. If it is around 13-15 v your doin' great! Now perform a load test on your battery (crank the starter a couple time with the ignition un plugged or whatever.) If the battery dies after a couple seconds of cranking (literally 3-5 seconds) REPLACE THE DAMN THANG! Start the vehicle and let it warm up, then unhook the battery. If the car still runs your alternator is fine if it instantly dies you sir, have a bad altenator circuit.
