Some dumb clonde hit my PARKED 88 civic dx today It only had 88,000 miles on it
the left rear light is smashed The bumper is broken and the quarter panel has a few creases and a couple small tears. also the metal panel in between the hatch and the bumper is mangled. Anyone have a good Idea of how much I will get paid for this, or do you think they will total it? It already had a couple bad rust spots I hope this doesn't affect anything.

 

hey I got rear-ended last week too! That piece between the hatch and rear bumper is dented and scratched to hell. Bumper is shockingly intact, couple scratches though.

So Honda-techers, how much can I/we expect to pay?

 

Yes, my bumper is intact also but Scratched enough and deep enough for me to bitch to the insurance adjuster about it

 

propably from a guy who works at a body shop if it has a tear in the quarter that's a new quarter or a used one so propably ballpark $800-1200 that's ballpark not seeing it thinking the worst

 

I thought that when a car of this age gets damage like that to the rear quarters they pretty much consider it totaled. I'm not 100%, but most cases i've seen end like that.

Shiet i was hit there too, i haven't got a chance to fix it but got estimates!! I was hit from the end of the door just scratched, adn a dent in the rear quarter where the gas cap is, and scratched the rear bumper. They said to fix it it'll be around 1700, that's fixing the dent and adding bondo. Cutting and welding a new rear quarter panel ranged from 2100- 2500. So just to let you know!!

 

Not really a bummer it had an auto and I only paid 1,000 for it. Besides the bare minimum they can give me if they total it is 1700.

My hatch has been rearended twice now, both times apx 10 MPH, both times not a scratch!!!

Way back when I had my 85 CRX I was leaving School and some dumb chick backed into me while I was pulling out. Well to make a long story short she hit me right in the door and a little into the quarter I was quoted over $2000 to fix so the insurance company totaled it out and I had recieved a check from them for $2300 and that was with me buying my car back from them!! I only paid $1400 for it then I was on my way to the bank when I finally got the check got rear ended by another dumb broad pushed in my bumper a tad but it was worth $800 to the insurance company!! So after I got that one tooken care of I was on my way to work and once again rear ended...I know I know what luck huh? Well nothing was really there so I said screw it the guy that had hit me had like $175 bucks on him I told him to give me that and I was on my way!! So about a month after that I decided to sell it and still got like $750 bucks so you add it all up 2300 + 800 + 175 + 750=$4025!! minus the 1400 I paid and I made $2625 and had the drove the car for like 2 years!! Not bad if I do say so myself!!
