What do you think of this box?
This picture was taken after wet sanding. The box still needed to be buffed and polished out.

IMO, the building part is definitely not the hard part - it's actually pretty straight forward. It's the finish work...the body filler, then fillable primer, then paint and all of the extensive sanding in between...

Hey 18gteg, do you find yourself using fiberglass for other stuff since you now how to work with it. For example, my mom asked me to look at her vacuum cleaner cause it wasn't working. The belt was fine, so I took it a apart and the housing had pieces of plastic cracked out of it. First thing that came to my mind was " I can glass this". I did and it has been working fine for a couple years now.
Well I can just about make anything out of fiberglass. So If I want a one off part for myself I just make it. Makes things alot easier than relying on someone else I can tell u that. If anyone needs to know anything about working with fiberglass feel free to ask, and I will try to answer you
yeah, i know what you guys mean....I do all my own custom bodywork on my car and sanding is the toughest part. getting it straight and smooth is very time consuming.
Two questions...
Why didn't you flush mount the subs?
and
Are those subs different sizes...it may be the angle, but the one sub looks substantially larger then the other?

No there are baffles constructed on the inside out of MD and glass. The box also get screwed into another box that you cannot see. The other box is shaped from the spare tire well and sits under the false floor on the vehicle to provide adequate airspace.
how do u mold the fiberglass to come out like this?
and also what's the procedure of sanding and painting?

Are the 12s and 15 all lowpass at the same xo point, or is the 12 acting as woofers (or midbass) and the 15 acting as the sub.
Are you using two different types of subwoofers because you want the lowness of a 15, but like the sound of a 12 better?

Yeah I guess we should call it an enclusure instead of a box. The fiberglass we get from http://www.selectproducts.com the resin we buy locally to save on shipping and hazmat fees.
Sue me, but I thought boxes had four corners and is either square or rectangular...?
Most boxes I've seen have 8 corners! OWNED!

The enclosure looks good, though. Have you tested out the sound yet?
