500 might get you the custom mounts you need then you need custom axles and then need to buy the motor. if you do the swap yourself it will just cost you the price of parts-a shop doing it you will look at about 4000 big ones

your transmission, your axle? i'm assuming either would be from driving your car as it shouldn't be driven (over-revved, dropping the clutch, burning out, etc.) ~~>especially on the street. enough with the lecture (assuming you're young since your dad is telling you what to do, in this case which he's right)....

you're looking at about 3/4 of a ZC w/tranny with your $500. for all the parts for a B-series swap(engine, trans, ECU, axles, mounts, misc. items), you're looking ~$2000 IF you install it yourself. more around $2500-$3000 installed by a mechanic. for $500, you might be able to get a D16Z6 (sorry if that's the wrong engine code, it's late), basically a 1.6 SOHC VTEC from a 92-95 Civic Si. in that case, you'll still need a new tranny.

buy a new tranny for now, have a reliable vehicle. when you have the $, go for a swap. don't get yourself into all kinds of debt for your car, it's not worth it.
