Default Dodge SRT-4 Swap in Civic?

Well i used to own a stage 3 SRT-4 and it was very quick. I was thinking of swapping a SRT-4 swap into my 1996 hatchback. But where would i get the custom mounts made, how would i disable the immobilizer, and where would i get the axles made? I was wondering if anyone else has done this engine swap that can give me pointers? Thanks

Kind of pointless considering the amount of different motor opportunities available for your chassis.

Thanks for answering all the questions i didn't ask...I've already gone D, B, H, K ...all that's left is J series. I want to try something different.

the amount of money it would take to do the swap would probably not be worth it. unless you are into welding and fabrication, then i would be looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Why put a dodge motor in a Honda chassis? Ok, maybe it's larger displacement in a lighter shell, but ultimately the advantage is moot because of what it will cost and how much of a pain it will be.
For mounts, you'll have to get a set of Civic and a set of SRT mounts, cut them and reweld them probably. As in, custom fab it yourself. Sounds easy, but that's going to be installing and removing them multiple times.

Axles will have to be made by someone like Drive Shaft Shop or something. Or get like a dozen different axles to play with different inboard and outboard joints and shafts.

Wiring...that will be one giant pain.

Basically, do a J or H/F series swap if you want power for a decent price. K is too pricey, B just lacks unless you turbo.

Hmm...i would like to go J-series but the the j32a2 tranny's are impossible to find. K series for the price it just wasn't enough power for me. 250hp 230 tq in a 2000 lb car will be fast. I ran 14.00's when my srt4 was stock with 6,000 miles on it. Think what a car half it's weight could run?...

7.00's?

naw, but i wouldn't wanna mess with it. it would be way too much of a hassle, unless you already knew what you were doing. if you're SERIOUSLY, still considering it though, ask around in the fab and other boards on here, i'm sure they have some good info, i've seen some pretty crazy builds on here

Search. There was a build thread on here about 3 years ago where someone was doing an SRT swap into a Civic. I don't remember a ton of details.

I do remember that he ran an SRT cluster and ECU. I think he *may* have run an entire SRT dash, steering column and rack. My guess is that he had the ECU, immobilizer receiver, and keys for the original engine, so the immobilizer wasn't a factor. I'm not 100% sure about it, I just remember seeing a detailed build thread.

It's out there, but it was before the big honda-tech redesign a few years ago, so hopefully you'll be able to find it.

Personally, I think you should just do a big turbo K-swap build.

I see i was looking on ALLDATA today and i was just going to bypass the ignition immobilizer and trick it to think that it's always on and just get the ecu reflashed. Or i could just be like EVERYONE else and do a turbo kswap

At the last car show I went to there was an EK hatch with a 2.2L Ecotec in it, mounts were obviously custom, looked like the guy used most of the caviler harness as well, ECU was mounted in the engine bay like a GM. With all the honda options available though I have no idea why anyone would bother with a swap like this.

Specs for srt-4:

230 whp
250 lb·ft

There is no point in spending thousands of dollars and hours of fab to get those specs. I think that you would be better off with a Kseries turbo kit if you want power.

I don't think you get the point. Stuff like this seems to always be done just to see if it CAN be done. To test the builders skill, patience and dedication. Who said it was being done for the horsepower or to insult Honda owners? How do you know what they spent or how long it took? And in all reality who cares?

This is true and I understand that, but from his posts it seems that he is looking for power...

And I was saying that if he is looking for power there are cheaper alternatives
