It started yesterday (Dec. 4, My bad luck day, lots of drama on this day in past yearS)...well, usually happens in second and third when im at low RPM after a turn or driving in a parking lot..it boggs as if i were lettinstomping and g go of the gas about 2-4 times til i hit 2300 RPM...oh, it happens when i kinda give it a little more then usaul amount of gas -but not completly stomping on it....Today i noticed that i starting to do it in first gear too soo i guess its getting worst pretty fast... help....
oh..i have B20B with B16A head...

Any CEL? When was the last time you replaced your cap, rotor and plugs? I'd try little inexpensive things like that first. Maybe your timing is off a little. Hope this helps you some.

 

All of those are about 3,000 mile old along with my set up... Thanks.......

 

I once had the same problem...hesitation down low...I changed my spark plugs...fixed the problem.

does the engine ever die when it boggs?? check your ground on the thermo housing. make sure its tight. this happened to me. the ground was'nt tightened after i replaced my thermostat and my car acted this way. just a thought.

 

well, yeah, it sounds like something is getting looser by the day...

could be a loose ground as above...

I had the same prob with my teg,usually when its cold .between 2000-3000rpms
Try checking fuel pressure, timing, tps

Thanks Everyone for your replys...but i think i bent my valves..sounds exactly like my friends car when he bent his valves..like a deasel engine...i guess i run out of luck this time reving it a little too high.. ..i just got some injector cleaner but didnt seem to help..because someone susgested that maybe my injectors were clogged open and bogged the car at low RPM...Well looks like im gonna be building my head a little sooner then i thought..

No, it hasn't died yet when it boggs...it just feels like someone is jumping on and off the gas...

OMG..i just drove my car to get something to eat...everytime i start it it sounds worst and worst!!! and drives worst and worst too!!! damn things boggs at any RPM now!!! just give it gas and it boggs too hell!!!!

 

Do you have a v-afc.........if so check the wiring....i had similar problems recently??? if that s any help

Just checked my spark plugs...found oil on spark plug #3...guessing blown piston rings..?

 

what is the exact background of the block/engine/set-up? eg break in period, oils used etc

ok...i have a B20B with under 30,000 miles on it...a JDM B16A Head with under 30,000 miles on it...put together by my friend -whos done more then enough LS-Vtecs to know what hes doing..he had a 12 second NA integra GSR..he curently has a 95 EG with B18C5....
break in period..? well about a 45 min break in period..just sitting there...then off to race a RSX-S...i didnt wanna do it but i did it.. then after i poped, i just couldnt stop!! then on average..above 7k about 2 to 5 times a day.. it was cool not being able to hook up in second gear! i have the vtec oil and water pump now but we wanted to wait until he found me a tranny and do it all at once (oh he was doing the work for free by the way..) now its in this condition...and hes in Arizona..and im stuck.. crap! im thnking about take it to inlinefour to get it worked on...but i wanna know whats wrong with it first but i have to take it to a shop to see whats wrong...

 

remove the radiator cap, what does the coolabnt look like?

take the rocker cover off, what does the oil around the camshafts look like?

do all the little rockers sit tightly under the camshafts or can you wiggle some of them up and down by hand.

tunrn the crank clockwise by hand (usign a 19mm socket on the crank bolt - not your hand!)

notice any binding? any sounds? (besides hisssssssssss, phewck, hissssssssss, phewck, hissssssss...)

shine a torch into the spark plug holes, what do you see? the top of the piston? what colour is it?

do a compression test.

get back to us...

it may not be as bad as it seems.
