Default UKDM Fog light???

Could one of you UKDM owners tell me how exactly the rear foglight works?
I have one at the moment ready to be installed but need to know how it is supposed to be wired.
Some people tell me it is an independant fog light and others tell me it is supposed to be wired to the brake lights.
Can someone confirm this? Do you have an extra switch for the rear fog light too?

THX

Yes, you will need a extra switch for the fog light.
ukdm ITR´s use the rear fog light on the left lighting switch.

Does the rear light blink, stay on constantly, work with your brakes, or what? I've always wondered that.

Thanks for the pic Pinota,
Unfortunately that all looks like a bunch of jibber-jabber to me.
Anybody with some installation instructions?
I did a search and found nothing.

PS- Hey Pinota, are you taking orders for the UKDM badges right now?

Stays on till u turn it off. It lights up the area behind you when you need it, also good for annoying drivers behind you.

So let me get this straight.
I turn on my headlights as normal using the left column switch. It is not until once I push the button for the foglight that it aluminates, otherwise it stays off.
Does that sound about right?

Yes, it will be always off.
You can drive with the rear fog light ON only during hard fog.
Otherwise it will diminish visibility to other drivers on your back.

Any UKDM ITR owners have a source for a UKDM bumper with foglight assembly?

The main reason I installed one on the Volvo.... better that than to get rear-ended.

I'm going to install red LEDs in one of my reverse light housings. And have a dedicated switch for it. Just to make sure people see the car when driving behind me under hazardous conditions.

I'll accept both answers. Rear fog is to make sure morons behind you know where you are. I use it in moderate to heavy rain, and to signal dumbasses behind me who have their high beams on.

if you get a ukdm one, the light is in the right hand side (as we drive on the left), all of the euro LHD ITR's have a fog light on the left. You would probably want the left hand one as your car is LHD.

they are about as bright as a brake light, and should only be used in cases of visibility being reduced to under 50 metre's by fog

Is there anywhere I can just buy the foglight itself and then have the foglight molded to my bumber somewhere else, rather than buying the whole UKDM bumper??

i'll see if i can get you a fog light (ukdm), i did have a bumper but sold it, the guy i sold it to was meant to give me his old bumper with fog light in it, i'll see if i can get a hold of it and maybee we could do some sort of trade (since i'm in the UK, and it would probably be more hassle trying to convert dollars to pounds etc). i would be willing to send the fog light first, and when you receive and are happy with it, you couls send me some thing, i dont know what, do you have anything i might be interested in? how much is an eg itr rear swaybar mounting kit over there? would that be an even trade?

let me know what you think. i did previously have arond 200 posts as ben_vtec, but upgraded to xp and lost my cookies to automatically log on, and have forgot my pass and old e-mail etc

I usually don't use the rear fog unless it is:
1) Foggy
2) Raining
3) Annoy people following too close to you
Ehhh, you're not supposed to use it when raining, it has a blinding effect. So 2 and 3 are the same.
