B18C1 Overhaul
I am currently in process of rebuilding my B18C1 for the first time. The engine has over 200K miles and is getting "very" tired. I was wondering if someone can help me with what parts and seals I would need for a complete overhaul. These are the parts that I was thinking about: Oil pump, water pump, timing belt, valve seals, cam seals, valve cover gasket, front and rear main seals, head gasket, and oil pan gasket. What else do I need?
And also, does anyone know what is the piston to wall clearance for JDM ITR pistons (.25 overbore)? I heard that I need this info before I go to the machine shop.
Thanks for your help in advance!

You need a Service Manual. It will take you alot further and faster than asking a billion qusetions. Cyl wall to piston clearance is 1 out of about 20 different clearances you will need to know. There are alot of other things you will need that not on your list. To name a few Honda Bond, Pistons, rings, main/rod bearings, plugs, oil, tranny fluid, coolant, ect. Just get a service manual.
*EDIT* Its good to start out by making a list. That always helps when you need to remember about 50 things.

Thanks for the help. I have the Acura Integra GS-R service manual. But I heard that the dealership also sells overhaul kits to save money...lower and upper overhaul kits. But I am not sure of what is included in each kit? And the manual I have shows the piston to wall clearance for GS-R pistons (P72-A0).....do I use the same clearance for JDM ITR pistons?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I do not think they sell a complete overhaul kit. What I think you are talking about is the bottom and top end gasket kits. They include all the gaskets and seals for the oil pan up. These gasket kits do not include things like thrust washer and main/rod bearings. These are special order parts. Meaning each engine is differen and requires different color (size) bearings. As far as clearances you can use the GSR specs. I would tell the machine shop that bores the cyls over for you that you want to stay on the tight side of the piston to cyl wall clearance. Good luck with your rebuild. I rebuilt my B16a with Std CTR pistons about 7 months ago and she is still running strong. Let us know if you have any more qusetions. HTH
