Default MOMO Seats

Does anybody have any experience with MOMO racing seats? I've sat in the entire Spacro line up, but never in any MOMO. How do they compare to Sparco's or other seats?
And, would you put them in your car and use them???

I haven't sat in too many seats, but I have a Momo 1000 Lakes Evo Carbon/Kevlar that fits me like a glove. I love it!

races with a Momo CUP GT seat, which replaced their Top Nascar seat in '02. It's FIA approved, light, comfortable, and affordable.

I rock MOMO 1000 Lakes (now discontinued) w/ Mugen slider.

It's more comfortable than stock ITR seat. I've made two 1,500 mile trips using the seat and they are comfy as hell. And, they provide awesome side support.

Sorry, no pics.

those are nice seats, but very pricey. I was thinking of something like MOMO Rookies...does anybody have input on them, or any more MOMO seats?

The Momo Rookie seat was the cheapest fiberglass shell, FIA approved seat. I had one a while back, and it was a decent seat for the money (but way too wide for me). I chose the seat over the Sparco Sprint at the time because the Rookie was lighter, had a fiberglass shell (which I rather have over a steel frame) and was FIA approved.

IIRC, the Momo Rookie is now discontinued.

Also I'm sure you already know this, but you shouldn't be using a race seat (race meaning non-reclinable) without rollover protection. Just FYI, for those out there who were considering a race seat and did not know this.

even if it was a race seat using the factory 3 point seabelt for the street. i mean i have heard the claims of the race harness without rollover protection which makes sense to me. please enlighten me on why a non reclinable race seat should not be used without rollover protection.

Race seats and/or harnesses should only be used with rollover protection because both of them will keep the driver upright in a rollover.

Not trying to preach, merely inform.

thats cool. i was just curios to see why. i guess it makes sense. just like a harness would keep your erect and seat would do the same.
i was just curious because i plan on getting seats, then a rollbar, then harnesses. i was going to do it in that order since i cant afford to do it all at once. so i guess i'll just start with a bar. anyways i dont want this to turn into one of those threads (if you know what i mean)
thanks for the info man

back on the subject, does anyone know the weight of that momo seat pictured above?
i was looking into the sparco kevlar one that someone was selling a while back, byut they are really expensive. i then found these momos which are a decent price compared to the sparcos and am looking into getting them. i want the lightest seats i can get, and i am not really into looks or get things for looks, but that kevlar has to be lightweight and it defenitly looks bad *** to.

Which MOMO seats give a nice tight fit to somebody with a waist of under 32? I sat in Sparco Revs and they seemed like a nice snug fit.

Why not get a Sparco Rev?

I have one of those also, and its a nice seat.

Why do you feel a need to get a race seat?

LOL, ouch read

The Rev is one of (if not the ) least expensive glass shell sparco sells. a comparable momo would prolly carry about the same price tag.

Rob- who thinks seats/brakes/tires/other life changing car parts shout not be purchased solely on price....
