Type A & B Pistons
Their bore is slightly different due to casting imperfections in the making of your block. I don't remember which is larger of A or B. You need to have the exact size in replacement pistons that your block designates for them to fit properly. Some blocks may have 3 "A pistons" and 1 "B piston" or any other combination. Unless you can get a mix of A and B replacement pistons you'll want to have your cylinders honed to accomodate the larger of the two in a full set.
A pistons are the larger of the two. You can find out what size pistons your block uses by removing the head and the sizes are stamped on the block. Or you you can just get .025 over size type s pistons and have your block bored and honed.
