Default poor gas mileage

My car has been getting around 260-280 miles per full tank of gas. The car has been regularly maintained. I just cleaned the fuel injection system cleaned with the good stuff. I had it cleaned because the car had rough starts and barely stayed running after I started it. I used the cleaner(forgot the brand) where you connect the bottle of cleaner to the intake manifold. Anyways back to the problem. Before I could get at least 320-340 miles out of a full tank of gas. But after the cleaning it went down. My friend told me maybe my O2 sensor has gone bad. Could this be the problem? If so, are there better O2 sensors out there besides stock? Thanks for your help!

gas mileage is very weird.

it could be weather, driving habits, or other environmental variables.

when was the last time you performed routine maintenance like fuel filter, adjustments, etc?

I have around 73000. I had the fuel filter changed at 60000. Thats normal driving. I shift around 4000 when I'm just driving to and from. thanks for your reply!

Only times I ever got 320ish miles to the tank is when I'm only doing highway driving. I usually averaged 22-24 mpg.

One odd thing I've noticed is that after the header and cat upgrade, my mpg seems to be better now than before. Weird.

My highway mileage and city mileage are almost exactly the same. No big differences. I just drove out of town(4 hour drive) a few weeks ago and got around what I would get driving city traffic. When I first put my DC 4-2-1 one piece, I didn't see any change in mileage either. heheh! thanks for your input though!

my gas mileage is absolutely horrible. The car is starved for fuel after about 280mi. My civic got 380 on a full 11.9-gal. tank.

WTF??? i have the worst gas mileage here.

with full tank. i only can drive like 400 Km.. not even. more like 370-380 Km. wich is like 248miles, or like 230 miles.

wtf's wrong with my kaa..

my mod so far..JDM DC 4-1, stock b pipe, spoon N1, AEM CAI. short shift.. which wont do anything about gas mileage

BTW i dont go too crazy on her.. i take her easy.. 1 and 2 4000 shift? 3.. or 4 th gears i stay at 3

ok.. another question. when you guys are driving 30-40 miles. what gear are u guys are in?

i shift 3rd to 4th at 60Km (= 37 mile) then. stay 4th gear about 2700-3000 depends on the speed.

City miles or highway miles?
280 in the city on a tank is not bad.
If it's highway, then you've got to change your wing setting.

Maybe I should be looking into a larger fuel cell for my boosted beast.

...what the hell are you bitching about... I'm happy to get over 200 miles on an average tank... anything over 22mpg is bonus...

99.9% city including the 80mph one way 10 mile freeway stretch to and from work...

edit... forgot to add that is only with AEM/JDM header/SMSP 2.5" cat...

hmmmmm.....is our cali gas diluted or something???? 91 Octane always fill up at 76 gas station. In the city I never get above 200 to the tank. If I drive on the freeway for all my miles I can get close to 300. How the hell are you guys getting so many miles to the tank?? Do you guys not have hills? I guess living on a hill owns my gas tank

...geeze do all the young people these days take everything as some sort of personal attack? ...been jaded by all of the cowardly internet warriors talking **** while hiding behind a screen in their mother's home, instead of grabbing a plane ticket? Most of us people who remember that jack-***, Jimmy Carter, being in office would have seen the comment as a "older person" venting his own frusterations about his own car... lighten up for christ's sake...
