Default Question Concerning OBD2 Distributor.

Why the connector and number of wires on a 2000 LS distributor drifferent than a 1997 TypeR distributor. I thought they should be the same since both are OBD2. Some body, please lecture me on this.

The OBD2 from 00-01 is slightly different from the OBD2 from 96-99. The plugs are confirgured differently, and won't plug up. Also, there is no tach signal wire from the distributor to the instrument cluster on the 00-01, as it is fed directly from the ECU to the cluster.

Aha! Now I know. If I just find the right plug for the ITR and ignore the tach signal wire, Would it work just fine?

I'm not 100% sure if the pins are the same, but otherwise, you are correct. Change the plastic housing on the distributor plug to the one from 00-01, and it should work fine. What is the problem/reason for changing?

You could put the guts from the LS distributor into your ITR housing, and end up with the right bolt pattern for the ITR head, or do vice versa to bolt the ITR dist. guts onto an LS head.

Every 00-01 distributor from a Teg that I have come across, had a different plug than a 96-99. Also true for 96-98/99-00 Civics. Just the other day, we tried to replug the wiring harness in my buddies 89 hatch to use the 00 ITR dist. for his OBD1 LS/Vtec swap, and the plug that we got from a 98 CRV harness was completely incompatible. And don't go saying the CRV ones are different, because they are the same as any 96-98 Civic and 96-99 Integra.

All 96-01 integra, 96-00 civic, and crv with b20 motor are same.
You are probably confused thinking 96-99 are same as 92-95.
