Default AutoLock on the clutch pedal

For those of you that know me or about me, I had my car stolen and recovered 2 months ago. I WAS lucky & thank Lojack for that. Anyway, i had an alarm and AUTOLOCK on the clutch pedal. When the Police found the car...THE AUTOLOCK WAS STILL ON the pedal..... I won't give details as to how they stole the car (dont want to give ideas), but just make sure it is ON Correctly.

Theives SUCK

sorry to hear that, so did my friend. They either towed ur poor baby, or had someone wit a car push the Type R from behind. Can't really start those, unless u have ur own computer, and key. Sorry to hear that again, I also saw a type R hear in a Salavaged lot stripped to the bone, only left wit the autolock on. Said its like we can't do anything to stop thieves. Can I ask where it was stolen, and at what time of day?

I was stupid and left the car out overnight on the side of the road....won't EVER do that again. I am fortunate that I have a garage to store the car in. I ASSUMED that I would be okay because I left it overnight before...Im an *** for doing that. My pedal would not move either.

Cali sucks with all the car thefts.

i think anyone with a Helms manual and a little auto knowledge can figure out how they did it. now i know my car is that much more vunerable to theft, even with an AutoLock on. it's unfortunate, but true.

why did you use the autolock on the clutch pedal? technically cant you put the car in neutral push the car, slam it in gear and basicly the car will go? Oh well, glad they found your car Fuel cut the best way to go

first....you can bypass the clutch switch to start the car...second... you can start the car in gear if there is no one parked in front or behind you...third ....even if you have two autolocks ..one on the brake and one on the clutch...you can always stop with the e-brake since the car will be not be moving with great speed...well ,when you are going to stop

I learned this when a car came in the shop with no clutch pedal pressure.....start it in gear and make sure no one is in your way

Remember......if someone wants your car....they will take it......thats why I make sure my car is always parked indoor with security and get to know all the theives around my neighborhood.....then you'll know who to look for

my friends clutch was sawed off. you're supposed to put it on the brake i would think because the material on the brake is different than the clutch. i don't know why but thats what i was told. =p

so why not one autolock on the clutch, and one on the gas? Or won't it fit on the gas?

The bad think with putting in on the brake is technically you could still drive it, just not as fast.
Now if you could rig up a switch that would keep the tail lights from comming on until you tap the brakes once at night, then the theif would surly get pulled over before getting to far.

Just double check that it doesn't slip if you yank it left or right.

good question...why do they say to use it on the clutch or brake....wouldn't the gas pedal be the most effective??

So does anyone see a NEGATIVE to applying it to the gas pedal? It makes sense right?

Someone in the member forum posted a website a few months ago that sells a product that defeats the autolock.

there is no negative but it does't fit on my car.

As for something to defeat the autolock. There is always something to defeat something else.

Which is why... there is

-aoib0t, who tested trying to put an autolock on the gas pedal but doesn't seem to fit.
