0° outside, my civic starts like an old lawnmower ?!?!
im in ohio, last night it was close to zero degrees. this morning before work my civic was sputtering and burning major oil when i first started it. for maybe 5 seconds a major burnt oil cloud was coming out my muffler. it was still idling real rough after the cloud went away, i let it idle for a few mins and when i checked on it it was idling smooth as always. it was running fine last night before i parked it. and it ran fine today on the way to work.
Why did it do this at start up? it seems like there was sitting oil in the combuston chamber, how can cold cause this??? it has 140k mi and I just did a mini-me swap in oct. w/ no problems.

I have a 95 EX with a 96 B18B and my cars doing the same thing, except no "oil cloud". It 's like 28 degrees out here. Every morning when i start it up and when i leave work at night, it runs / sounds like ****...
Also, when i come to a stop at a light, the rpms drop to 200 then it seems like it "catches" and goes back up to 700rpm. What the hells up with that...?
I think i'm gonna run a compression test on it soon just to see if everything is hunky dory. It's been burning like a half a quart of oil every 2500-3000 miles...
