Clutch Question!!!
I have a d16y7 engine and a 91 Si Tranny. I might need a new clutch soon, however i do not know which one i should buy.
Civic 92-00?
CRX Ones?
Im leaning towards Exedy since i heard they arent too bad and they arent too expensive. ACT is too pricy right now sine im not really racing yet.
Im also looking into a lightened flywheel and was wondering if i have to match the clutch to it
Help!

yeah but what year should i buy the clutch for?
Im thinking of getting a lightened flywheel too. But will the clutch match up to it? Not looking to spend a lot since i dont want to dump too much on a SOHC

for the clutch, you need to get the clutch for whatever tranny you have. I haven't really heard anything good about exedy tho. and if your not racing whats the point in a lightened flywheel?
i.e.-if you have a 91 si tranny, get a clutch for a 91 civic/crx si.
Oh, BTW you should definately dump all your money into a SOHC!!!

i guess i wond waste my money on a flywheel since i plan on doing an engine swap later on (b-series!)
so its the clutch that matches the tranny and not the flywheel/engine?
i just want to make sure i order the right one

If you look at part #'s you will notice that all clutches/flywheels for SOHC D-series motors are the same from 90-00. If you don't want to spend a lot of money just get an OEM clutch. If want to spend a little more and don't mind an increase in clutch pedal effort, go for a centreforce, MOPAC on Kingsway in Burnaby will have the best prices on these. Otherwise, I have heard a lot of good things about ACT.
yeah i called mopac and they said $330.
I already ordered the Exedy, so ill try it out. MY car just has the minor bolt ons for now, so i guess it shouldnt be too bad!
Plus you can beat $180 for a new clutch!
