ok i have dillemma i need opinions
i have an 89 crx si with first gen b16a1. and the hood dosent fit right and also the drivers side fender is dented as well and the front bumper has some small knicks in it but nothing too noticable. im debating wether to get a carbon fiber zc hood. and a new fender. or just get an SIR front end. the hood and fender idea would cost me about 400. and the sir front end is 650 from hmo.com. only problem with the sir front end is.... i dont have a garage to install it in so id prolly have to find a shop to do it for me. so it would cost more.
installing the jdm front end is easy. you don't need a garage. unbolt yours and bolt on the siR front end. rewire the headlights and your done. no more hood problems.
Was the car in an accident? How doesnt it close right? How big of a dent in the fender? Is your bumper pushed in? If the things arent lining up getting a new hood and fender wont help. Do you know why it isnt closing right?
it isnt closing right because i have a dohc motor and a stock hood with hcp mounts. it closes but it sticks up a lil on the drivers side. looks waaay ugly

Put some washers under your motor mount so it moves the engine down a bit. That is what ZC swaper have to do. Works nicely...no more hood rub for me!
Hehe...that darn vtec...my b18b swap fits under with hcp mounts
I would go with hood, and fenders. Save the extra 250+install $$ for some performance stuff...or...just save money
