Default spoon exhaust

Is the spoon rear section any good with out the b pipe. Also dose the rear section bolt up to the stock exhaust, if not what should one who wants it do? Oh and is it really worth the money.
thanks

The Spoon back boxes bolt directly to the stock system but will not bolt to an aftermarket system. I have an HKS center section and am trying to change the Hiper back box to the Spoon N1 but the HKS flange is gonna need chopping and welding...

Any good? A little. It flows more than the stock muffler but it still has the bottleneck at the flange and the stock bpipe bottlenecks. Chalk it up as a bonus in the weight reduction department.

Yes, it bolts up to the stock bpipe.

Worth the money? If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably get a Fujitsubo RM-01A but that also involves getting a new catalytic converter. But then again ... if I had to do it all over again, I would probably go SMSP/Hytech (complete system).

the newer versions don't have the bottle neck.

Yes they do. I've seen the 1st gen, I have the 2nd gen ("no bottleneck" - yeah right) and I've seen the 3rd gen (predrilled for silencer).

The 2nd/3rd gens doesn't pinch in after the flange but from inside the flange, it bottlenecks into a 2" opening ... but either way, even without a bottleneck, the stock bpipe and even the T1R is the bottleneck.

so the piping is thicker at the flange then...

it doesn't state whether it is the new/old n1 axle back. i mean, i just kinda find it hard to believe that Spoon would still leave the bottle neck intheir axle backs, but instead of "pinching" the flange a little bit, they add a more steel? So.. they icrease material costs to do the same thing?

go with stock, b pipe is the biggest difference in my opinion. I have a DC sports exhaust on my R...biggest difference is in the b pipe, not muffler: other then weight!
