Stainless o-ring and Cometic head gasket compatible?

Stainless o-ring and Cometic head gasket compatible?
Like the title says, can a Cometic gasket be used with a stainless o-ring instead of a copper ring? I have been having minor head gasket leaks with my copper SCE head gasket/stainless o-ring set-up. I was wondering if the tougher (harder) materials will work together and provide a better seal rather than the softer (maleable) copper. Anyway, does anybody run this type of set up and how does it work for you?

You can use the Cometic MLS gasket but not the HP (it has an o-ring already in it). No problem that it is stainless rather than copper as long as the o-ring does not stick out more than half the thickness of the gasket.

use a stock head gasket!!! cometics are garbage!
I have to say I disagree with you because I had to pull our head before a race and did not have a spare. I reused the Cometic and boosted 26lbs with no problems. Became a believer after that.
