just a real quick question:
is there any adhesive or sealant used to hold the rear wing on? i was thinking about removing it just for kicks but i don't want to have to mess around with adhesive remover. thanks in advance.

The stock wing is held on by 4 bolts AND double sided tape/adhesive. Going to kragen/pepboys and buying a can of 3M adhesive remover isn't too much trouble.
You're going to have more fun cutting through that adhesive than using some liquid to remove it off afterwards.

thanks for the info.
to re-install the wing, would you recommend just using 3M double-sided tape? or is there some other product better suited for the job? thanks!

3M double sided tape would do just fine. I actually just slapped it back on w/ whatever was left on the wing. The deck lid seems to be fine. It's up to you if you want to use the tape or not. I guess use it to protect the deck lid from any damage.

great.
i figured that there would be some form of adhesive just to keep water and whatnot from leaking through the bolt-holes. i was hoping that i could just take the wing off to see how the car looked but it seems like it might be more trouble than it's actually worth. thanks for your help.

Seems a lot of people take the wing off.......then put it back on. Seems as if their is a reason the car has the wing in the first place.

Does it make a difference? Ask George.
I used Afta adhesive reomover and used plugs from a civic strut cap for the holes. I also got my hands on a set of gaskets for the wing from Wings west but, you can check some of my older posts for all that info.
I will be reinstalling it again as I get more and more active with track events as opposed to only autocross. You don't need the wing, and especially for autocross.
Good luck,
A.
