Good news for Honda APEXi PowerFC users!!!
No more being told the APEXi PowerFC is all well and good but you can't get to the base maps and it's not as flexible or easy to program as a PC Software programmable system...

), vtec, timing, idle, easily compansate for injector swaps (took me 10minutes) etc... The PowerFC has never been the problem, that has to be laid at APEXi's door for the way they distribute (i.e. don't) the Excel PC software
I think it's unfair to label the PowerFC a glorified VAFC, after all with a VAFC you can only adjust fuel and VTEC point. With the PowerFC you can adjust fuel (by rpm, PIM voltage or via a map (OK you cant get to the base map but that's probably a good thing for most we-todd-did users like me

So they charge you more to get a feature that all other standalones come with out of the box? Cool... I guess.

Last time I checked datalogging came on the most basic model of Hondata. In fact, that seemed to be the point of of the stage 1. If you wanted to tune the car with it, that was extra.
Edit: Nevermind. I just checked thier board. Question though, what's the point of a Hondata that you can't tune or datalog? What does it give you that the factory ECU doesn't?

I'm talking about the S100.
From Hondatas website:
s100 - this is the entry level system for users who do not wish to tune their vehicle, and don't require additional features such as 3 step rev limiter or datalogging.
That tells me that you can't tune it or have it tuned. Am I reading that wrong?

You sort of missed the point of the thread. It isn't really to debate the superiority of the power FC but to annouce to those who have it that they capabilities are not equal with the others.

Well Hondata does phrase it oddly. What they mean is with the s100, YOU won't be doing the tuning, but your tuner. It's so that people can get their car tuned without investing in all the additional stuff needed to do the actual tuning.
Our s100 system is no different than the s200 except that it cannot be upgraded to include additional features. This is the ideal setup for someone who wants the car tuned by their dealer and doesn't want to worry about it. This system fits entirely withing the ECU and has nothing external. This is also ideal for some one who doesn't have enough money for a full blown system but needs the ability to have the car fully tuned.

Same with the Hondata really you can buy one but if you don't have all the kit to program them then you still have to pay someone who has the stuff to do it.
The difference being Hondata have always made the programming available to anyone (for a price), which is the best way to do it.
BTW I'm not dissing Hondata I'm sure it's a very good product (although I have never had one)
Out of interest how much does the Hondata with Boost Datalogging and all the hardware to program it cost (ROM emulator etc), is that Stage 4, cant see the price on the Hondata site.
OK just re-read the Hondata Website and Stage 4 no longer exists, just need to add options to s200 system
