andie will most likely recommend Axxis Ultimate pads (which I use for street
) Best to just change pads for track events (maybe one of cobalts new pads). Brake fluid is again, one of Cobalts new products.
I'm assuming you're asking about SS brake lines. Not really needed for the type of driving you described, but it's cheap so that's optional. Helps keeps the brake pedal firm since it won't expand when the fluid gets hot at track events.

shi - who needs to stop by stoptech and pick up some new brake pads

I never had experiences with the Axxis...but I used to run Porterfield R4-S on street and Autox and love every single day of using it. Now I have stock pads, it just felt so mushy!
I also ran Endless CCX...they are not much noticeable from stock when you first drove it until it brokes in. However, not much of a strong initial bite compare to the R4-S, they do withstand much better in high temperture. Ideal for weekend cruise car and track days. I wouldn't run them everyday on the street since they are so expensive.

well i'll give a little review on what i have right now.
I have carbotech P+'s right now, only in the front. A little mix up with the rears.. and got them late. Since it's fall/winter now, i have no need to install the rears. Anyhow, with just the fronts in the car brakes noticeably better. In a 6 session track day and each session lasting 20 minutes, i had 0 fade with these pads. Very sure footed braking and good bite. The brake pedal was noticeably stiffer during braking...
only gripe, they squeel quite a bit. not a lot, but they squeel. they also dust quite a bite more than stock as well, however the it's non-corrosive.
overall, good track pad for a fairly good price.

Your original question was "what are brake lines for?" The stainless steel lines you always hear about replace the rubber hoses that go between the calipers and the steel tubes that run the rest of the way back to the master cylinder. The "stainless steel" lines are actually rubber hoses with a woven stainless steel covering over them. The woven covering provides a number of benefits, but probably the most important benefit for track use is that it prevents the rubber hose from expanding when it heats up from heavy brake usage. This keeps the pedal firmer and retains braking power.
SS lines are not a must-have for HPDE (track day) use. Upgraded pads and brake fluid are more important. But they seemed like a good enough idea that I went ahead and swapped them in when i first replaced the stock brake fluid with higher performance fluid. I ordered mine from Comptech, but they sent me Goodridge lines. From what I hear, Goodridge is good quality, and most places that sell SS lines sell them.
I don't know anything about Endless pads. I'm currently using Porterfield R4-S, and they're fine for my use (mostly street, with occasional autocross and HPDE). I'll probably switch to the Axxis Ultimates when these wear out because they're in the same performance category, I get a discount, and I can get them from Andie who is local to me.

Hope this helps.
Oh yeah, you can also try searching the "Archived Topics" in the "Integra Type-R" and "Road Racing/Autocross" forums for "brake". You'll get a ton of results, but sift through them a little bit and you'll also get a ton of useful information.
Have fun!

I have run Porterfield RS4-s on on the street and really like the pad, Very little brake dust, almost no noise, they bite well when cold and have lasted fairly long compared to stock.
I switch to Hawk blues on the front for track days.
I was very happy with the results of just switching to a nice pad, adding stainless lines and good fluid (ATE Superblue.....Castrol....).

The Axiis pads... they're $92.25 for a front set. Do you need to buy two front sets (one for each wheel) or does a front set include 4 pads?

uhh is Andi some brake god or do u guys all work for him hehe
He:
- is extremely knowledgeable about all brake products, including those he sells as well as other, and is happy to share this knowledge. That's why, even though a lot of people here are giving you good advice, you're better off talking with Andie. You can discuss your needs and he'll tell you what's best for you.
- is selling some products that are better than anyone else's. For example... You asked about brake fluid. He sells a fluid that has higher boiling points (that means it's better) than either ATE Super Blue or Motul RBF 600, the two most-frequently-recommended high performance brake fluids, and at a reasonable price too.
- sells products at great prices.
- is providing sponsorship money to the ITR Expo 3.
- is donating a portion of sales to ITRCA members to ITR Expo 3 in addition to his sponsorship money.
- is (in case it's not apparent from all of this) a really nice guy, too.
Does this make him a brake god? You betcha.
