i finally got the engine in and it runs. the problem now is a sound that i think is coming from the block. it almost sounds like my heat shield rattling, but it sounds like its coming from the oil pan. i don't wanna drive it cause i'm afraid that i might damage something. what could this be?? this would'nt have anything to do with timing would it??? PLEASE HELP!!!!

 

When I read the title I thought you might have eaten too many beans.
With car off and cooled down completely, get under car and tap the exhaust pipe firmly with your fingers. Listen to see if you hear that sound. Hit some other spots and see if the noise returns.
