Valve cover powder coat removal
I read on a search that some people put their valve cover in an oven at 600 degrees and the black powder coating will burn off. Is that true? Anyone actually tried it. While on the subject of ovens, I also read that putting your headlights in the oven at 250 degrees will soften up the sealant on them and the clear lens can be taken off to paint the surrounds. Seems kind of risky to me. Thanks for any help.
Go to Autozone. Get some of the Aircraft Paint Stripper. It's in a blue can. Spray all over the valve cover and wait for 5 minutes. Spray off with a hose then do again if any is left on.
Be careful though because it tends to burn the skin!

Is Jasco a brand of paint stripper? It dosn't effect the metal underneath, right?
Haven't heard of Jasco b4, I'll have to try it. Can't go wrong with Aircraft Remover though. Either way it's going to be tough removing powdercoat from parts. That chit is strong!!
