RIP CW98 ITR #347
Friday night went to UTC to eat at Red Robin came out 45 min. later my R was gone & recovered last night ( Sunday) . Anyway its my 6th Honda 2nd Type R and I can say i'm done - I'll never own another Honda Vehicle. Good luck to everyone I hope everyone takes the proper precautions my car had an alarm parked in plain view and now today its a ******* see saw sitting on a pile of tires at some junk yard soon to be scrap - my insurance says totaled and I almost want to buy whats left but I'm glad to see it go away at this point. Like i said good luck and be careful people you put so much time and money it can be taken and destroyed in minutes. Its only a car but I lost so much stuff personal effects passport , receipts, etc. gifts for christmas. anyway its all gone so long.

Goddamnit! When will people understand that it's cheaper to go faster (B18B+turbo), handle better (even ITR owners upgrade their suspension), and brake harder (Fastbrakes) than stealing an ITR for parts!?
thk:
Most of the people stealing these cars do not have performance in mind. They are more concerned with telling their friends that they have a "Type-R" motor and that they have "Type-R" this and that. They really don't give a rat's *** how the parts perform as long as they can brag. It's too bad that honda made these cars so easy to steal. I used to drive my car wherever, but now I limit myself to driving it on the weekends and only taking it to places where I know I can be less than a block away to hear something if someone tries to steal it. Everyone keep your car's safe, we don't want to read any more posts like this.

Thanks everyone! Hopefully insurance gives me what thge cars worth.
Yeah right!
You'll have to fight, research, bitch, research some more, complain, & fight some more to get it. Do a lot of research from those with stolen ITRs w/ similar miles. Go to battle w/ your insurance company well armed. It's no fun. Believe me.
I'm sorry about the loss.
I too decided to invest my time & money in another, less ******* friendly brand of automobile. I still worry, but not as much had I replaced my ITR w/ another one.
Best of luck to you.
If you want help in dealing with the crooked...er, insurance company, feel free to IM me.
Man...that's sad. I remembered that you just bought it not too long ago too. Sorry to hear that. Freaking resturaunt...what kind of anti-theft did you have?

My 2 cents:
Subarus make great cars, aren't very theif friendly (the old school Imprezas never will be), handle well, & look good too.
And the GC8 2.5RSs can be found for really good prices now that everyone wants a WRX.

Hey Paul,
I’m so sorry to hear about 98 ITR 347. Since Saturday, I have also been contemplating weather or not I should keep my ITR. I know they only broke into it but they stole the confidence I have of taking it out. 98 ITR 347 was in my possession for more than two years and it brought me a great deal happiness. The junkyard is the last place I could ever imagine it to be. I know that I’m no longer the owner but I still an attachment to it. The day I handed you the keys I was glad that you got them. I knew that you would treat it the way it should be. It’s a shame that such people destroy what others value so much. Now my car just sits parked in the garage. Uncertainty still reigns in my mind. This incident occurred so close to home I don’t have the assurance I once did. Before I only worried about someone stealing the emblems or a possible door ding. Those feelings have left and now all that remains is the fear of coming outside to view and empty space where it was left. It was not one of my plans to sell either of the cars. The Mugens and Volks were to add to the appearance of the car. Now they are more like an article to attract thieves. My first thread on Honda-Tech related to a pager system for the car. There was no expectation that I would alert others to our unfortunate experience before I decided on the proper system. My eyes will grace Type R 347 one last time before it’s laid to rest
. Again Paul, I would like to express my sincerest sympathy.
