heading to hong kong...how can i tell if the parts I get are genuine
I am gonna try my luck digging for a JDM FD, Toda FW, and Jun cams and valvetrain in Hong Kong...How can I tell if they are real?
I know some places like to rip people off...anyone have any suggestions?

I think you should be OK if you stick with the big shops in Mong Kok...some of the Hong Kong expats on here should know the exact names.
Dunno how much money you're gonna save though - can't be as cheap as getting stuff in Japan

I would suggest you goto either GT Sport, Top Racing, FELIX, or KAYABA. But like other ppl said, the price won't be much of a difference unless you have some hook up.
what brands are cheap to get in hong kong? like are some brands specifically cheaper?
for example, is cusco stuff there cheaper then the price we get it here? or the same?
i heard cusco stuff was cheap in japan i htink... im curious about whether it is cheap in HK too... I'm looking for a front lower tie bar hehe

i know the prices won't be much different, but i am on vacation and i can justify my spending more
Your chance of getting real stuffs from those shops would be greater, but you never know. Specially when the price is too good to be true, beware!!
Your best bet would be look around in the magazine and try to buy parts from those authorized dealers in HK. ie. for Spoon and Mugen, goto GT Sport; for JUN, goto Kayaba; for TODA, goto FELIX; and for Trust and Carbing, goto Top Racing.

Pick up an Option Fans magazine right after u arrive and u can find addresses and phone#s all listed in there.
KAYABA shop and Felix are great with pretty good service. Haven't really hear good things from GT Sports though but depends on which branch u go to.

I have GREAT experience from GT Sport, every branch I walked into they serviced me good. I like going to their main branch the most, GREAT service and awsome showroom!!
And if you are lucky, you may see Mr. Spoon Jr. there.

Go Kayaba HK , tell Ben from AJR sent you you will be getting a deal
i think i'll have to try that trick out when i go back to HK
I think i should move to china. With about $500,000 you can live like a king for the rest of your life. The plus about getting parts there is they probably have a bigger selection of parts they dont bring here.

They can smell the bling blings hide inside your pocket man. They can also sense that u ain't local customers. They treat local customer worse coz not everyone there can spend shiet load of $$ on parts.
Also, I got worse service else where as a walk in customer in HK.
Me heading to HK for X'mas vacation too
